Michael Goldsmith

Michael Goldsmith was born in 1965. In 1990 he gained a Diploma of Art from Prahran TAFE and in 1993 completed his Bachelor of Arts, Fine Art Photography and then his Master of Arts, Fine Art Photography in 1995.

From 1997-2004 Michael worked as Design and Manufacturing Director for Schema Furniture and Design.

Throughout the 1990s Michael lectured in art history at RMIT and exhibited both photographic and sculptural artwork.

In 1999 he designed LL Lounge and Sophia Ottoman.

In 2000 the Meri Chair and Footstool was designed.

In 2003 the Mema Chair was designed.

Michael has work in many private collections and in the National Gallery of Victoria.

In 2009 the Tenfold Chair, inspired by geometric abstract sculpture was prototyped for the 2009 Melbourne Fringe Furniture exhibition.
